The purpose of this research is to determine whether or not institutions of higher education in the United States have redefined scholarship to be more inclusive and give more weight to creative or public scholarship as was suggested by Boyer in 1990 or if these institutions continued to fall behind and discourage scholarship in these areas when compared to institutions of higher education abroad. This research is a continuation of previous research on defining creative scholarship and identifying evaluation tools for creative scholarship. The researchers compare previous definitions and standards of creative scholarship from institutions of higher education in the United States to institutions abroad. In order to complete these comparisons, researchers compared definitions and standards of creative scholarship at institutions of higher education in the United States from 2002 with current definitions. The current definitions and standards were compared with institutions and/or national definitions and standards of creative scholarship from abroad.
